K. Laxma Goud was born in Nizampur, Andhra Pradesh, in 1940. In 1963, the Government College of Art and Architecture, Hyderabad awarded him a diploma in drawing and painting. Later, he studied mural painting and printmaking at M.S. University, Baroda.
This enriching educational background helped him to create his own simple style which adorns his canvas. The artist has participated in the solo exhibitions in Kalabhavan, Hyderabad (1965-1967); Royal Academy, London (1982); Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi (1985); Grey Art Gallery, New York (2001-2002), to name a few. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in cities, such as Kolkata, New Delhi, New York, Dubai and so on.
He is the recipient of the Padma Shri (2016), and lives and works in Hyderabad.
