Roy K John

An alumnus of the Kalabhavan School of Arts, Thrissur, Kerala-based artist Roy K. John also completed a traditional Mural Painting course at the Temple of Arts, Guruvayoor. With an aim of blending traditional rural techniques with contemporary art, Roy K. John’s paintings and murals are often personal reinterpretations of Hindu deities and traditional Indian iconography. He often uses shades of green in his artwork, a colour he finds very positive, and his art involves imaginative lotus ponds or figures that represent morning energy. With more than 15 years of experience in the field, he has had over a dozen group and solo shows in Kerala, Bangalore and Chennai.
