Anoop Akhar Pandey is a remarkable artist from Tatanagar in Jharkhand. His schooling in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh has given him the right environment to channelize his creativity. He shows his dexterity with colours when he uses the shades of pink, green, yellow, orange, magenta and ochre with ease. His work is deeply rooted in realist drawing, portraiture and watercolours, which often startles the viewers. He has been able to evolve a style that draws inspiration from different sources: realist masters, folk traditions and graffiti, all of which create a wonderful blend of expressionism.
His compositions are conceived in the Asiatic traditions and build up a visual cosmos of activity that creates its own internal narrative. At the same time, he is capable of painting eye-catching portraits with a complex narrative that is internal to his images.
Anoop has received awards from South Central Zone in 2007, Camlin 2007, Raipur 2005, Shruti (Jharkhand) 2003, Kala Parishad (Jharkhand) 2003, Kalavant, Ujjain 2005, Khairagarh 2005.
