Bhaskara Rao’s landscapes reflect the memories and experiences he has collected from the places he has lived in. These memories also include what he has touched, smelled, heard and walked through in his life. His landscapes are painted from the place of love and gratitude for his experiences of the world.
He treats his landscapes as his playgrounds where he shows his laughter, smiles and tears of reverence for the beauty. These paintings are an expression of his most intimate history and give his truth a voice.
Trees have played a scared role in his work. He strongly thinks that trees have played a significant role in our cultural landscape, for they not only yield fruit but also provide shade and protect the surface of the earth. His motif is The Tree which has remained a constant in his oeuvre over the years. He lives in Hyderabad.
