Dimpy Menon is a graduate in fine arts from the College of Arts and Crafts in Chennai. The Bangalore-based artist majored in sculpture. She has held solo shows across the globe to exhibit her work, including the ones at Max Muller Bhavan, Bangalore (now Bengaluru) in 1981; Park Sheraton in Madras (now Chennai) in 1986; Nehru Centre, London in 2005; Florence Biennale, Florence in 2015; Amsterdam-Whitney Gallery, New York in 2016.

She has also been part of numerous group shows in India and abroad. Dimpy Menon has won the state award for sculpture (Tamil Nadu) in 1984 and the Lorenzo il Magnifico award for sculpture, Florence, Italy in 2015.
