Paresh Maity, born in Tamluk, a suburban town near the Bay of Bengal, has made a mark in the Indian art scene in a short career span. His solo shows include exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, Gallerie Ganesha in New Delhi and Gallery Katayun in Kolkata. He received the National Scholarship from the Government of India and All India Mini Sculpture Exhibition Award from AIFACS. His works are in several notable collections, including the British Museum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
